Some people believe that educational qualifications will always bring success in life. Other people say that educational qualifications do not necessarily bring success. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Nowadays, more and more people are willing to spend money and time on educational qualifications such as a master degree or even a doctoral degree. To my mind, however, educational qualification is at most a necessary condition, rather than a sufficient one, for success in our life.
Needless to say, educational qualifications may mean a lot to our success in life. In the first place, they are always required in order for us to find our dream jobs. A university teaching position, for instance, requires the candidates to have obtained their doctoral degree, without which there would be no interview no matter how suitable they may be for the position. Besides, educational qualifications also mean that the owners have had the expertise and the ability to work out problems in a specialized field. All these are essential if we want to succeed in life.
However, our success entails much more than educational qualifications alone. To succeed, we have to know how to cooperate with others and how to lead a team towards a common goal. Besides interpersonal relationship, social networking, and the ability to inspire our team members, we also need to know the value of persistence and hard work, and sometimes even luck.
Therefore, educational qualifications alone are not sufficient for success. In fact, we have seen many people with high educational qualifications whose life turns out to be a complete failure for one reason or another. My conclusion, then, is that, even though there is a certain positive co-relation between them, educational qualifications do not necessarily lead to a successful life, for success involves many factors other than educational qualifications.
